Sarah Padwick: miniaturist

Sarah Padwick took up watercolour painting in 1989 and has studied in England, Scotland and France, completing a painting course of the Open College of Arts in 1993.

Primarily a landscape artist, Sarah undertakes commissions for 'portraits' of houses in their garden settings. She works on site from photographs of landscapes or house subjects.

Sarah is also delighted to undertake miniature portrait commissions in watercolour on ivorine.

She has exhibited in the south and west of England, London and Edinburgh.

Alan Padwick Alan Padwick: Miniaturisthas enjoyed painting and drawing since childhood.

A career in the Royal Navy took him to Oslo, where he resumed a serious part time study of art with a course of life and portrait oil painting in 1979. He has also studied at St. Martin's School of Art in London, and in Portsmouth and Edinburgh.

Alan enjoys painting a wide variety of subjects in various media, and amusing friends with cartoons. He undertakes commissions for portraits, animal portraits, buildings and ships in addition to a variety of commercial illustrations and designs.

He teaches private, art club and Further Education classes in Wiltshire.

Sarah and Alan moved on to their own narrowboat in May 1993 for an extended cruise on the English canals, and in 1996 settled into their new home on the Kennet and Avon Canal in Devizes, Wiltshire, where they run a small bespoke picture framing business.
